GREEN PARTY BRAZIL 2007 In a ceremony carried through in Xapuri, the Green Party of Acre commemorated the affiliation of Elenira Mendes, daughter of the world-wide known and beloved environmentalist Chico Mendes, assassinated in 1988. Women Leaders of Association and Agricultural Union and experienced professors of forest citizenship had joined Elenira. "Grown in top of a tragedy" and today at the front of the Foundation Chico Mendes, absorbed the commitment that read in the verse of a photograph of herself with her father: "Elenira, you are the vanguard of hope and will give continuity one day to the fight that your father will not win", thus, she assumed a candidacy for the Green Party.
