From the 3rd to the 6th of this past December, the First Euro-African Green Meeting named "The Challenge of Globalization and the Environment", took place in Nairobi, Kenya.

Around 200 delegates and observers from 25 African countries, representatives from Green Parties in Africa, Non Governmental Organizations from 12 countries, European Green Parties, Green Parliamentarians as well as the delegates from the Federation of the Americas, assisted and participated.

The Federation of Green Parties of the Americas was represented by its Vice-president Natalia Escudero. Annie Bouillier Goeke from the ASGP and member of the Executive Commitee of the Federation, was also present at this important event.

During three days the green delegates from the different continents exposed their green experiences in social, economical and political issues. During this time the paticipants agreed in the possibility of making joint cooperation efforts in different levels: regional, continental and global.

In this meeting a document titled "Euro-African Commitment for Green Action" was adopted.

The participation of the Vice-president of the Federation, Natalia Escudero, was centered in three points:

1)The presentation of the Federation of Green Parties of the Americas, its activities and actions taken since its founding.

2) As carrier of an invitation that the Federation of Green Parties of the Americas and the Federation of Green Ecological Parties of Africa convoke, ALL GREEN PARTIES AND NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE WORLD to the International Meeting called GREEN MILLENIUM that will take place in Oaxaca, Mexico from the 20th to the 25th of September 1999.

3) The problem in the State of Chiapas, and the actions taken by the Green Ecological party of Mexico to confront it.

This way the Federation of green Parties of the Americas is achieving its goals through a mutual global cooperation.

Its participation in Africa unifies and fortifies the efforts of all environmental political and non political organizations.
